Did you have your dream wedding planned?

Were your marigolds, roses, and orchids bloomed and ready to be used for decoration?

Was your honeymoon destination awaiting your arrival?

As coronavirus has plagued the entire world, the wedding fever for 2020 has taken a dip! The wedding planning industry has suffered huge losses in bookings and packages. But most importantly, the ideal weddings that were long awaited are not taking place in this time of social distancing. During this time, a multitude of changes will take place to pave way for unique upcoming trends. Read up on these new and soon to be popular ideas and guidelines for some tips!

Since apps like Zoom and Google Meet have taken off during COVID 19, the trend may continue when it comes to online weddings . Platforms like Tinder have already created talks around this idea. It’s a free and easy way of having a hassle free wedding, as scheduled! Multiple guests can join from all over the world. Furthermore, bookings, communicating with vendors, and other decisions will also be made over the phone or websites, making it important to have a good online channel that is user friendly.

The lockdown has made us realise the effects of the entire world quarantining, through the impact on wildlife and nature. This also shows us the extent to which large industries and corporations are depleting our natural resources. We have become more environmentally conscious in the amount of plastic we consume, or the adoption of veganism in our diet too! So should we not do the same when it comes to wedding decoration, reusable and rentable dresses, digital invite cards and so on. It’s time to Go Green!

Eco friendly substitutions

As people are maintaining a healthy distance from each other, is a big fat Indian wedding a viable option anymore? Smaller gatherings of 150-200 people will become the norm slowly, with extended families being called only for certain ceremonies or sent wishes. It will be more intimate and carefully planned. Furthermore, sanitary standards will be high for every venue and hospitality services. In this case,an event management platform comes into play! A digital app can lessen the workforce and organizers. Furthermore, the ones who cannot travel can see the wedding live and save on travel costs!

There may be more importance given toexperiential events rather than materialistic gifts and show. More engaging and memorable event ideas and themes may be the new norm! Performances, arts, music, interacting are all possible upcoming wedding event ideas.

Since brides and grooms will switch to alternative options than a traditional wedding, a lot of budget cutting will happen. Lesser guests, simpler buffets, eco friendly options, digitization to name a few, are all cost cutting options too. New couples may not get their ideal dream wedding but wedding planners and organizers may suffer because of low budget allocations.

Usually a wedding’s highlight is the kind of food and catering that is offered. But with growing care and safety regarding certain food items, will extravagant buffets still be the talk of the town? We don’t think so. More personally curated wedding buffet meals will be upcoming. Maybe, wedding planners may also suggest simple snacks and light meals instead of over the top full course meals. As the food industry is booming, personalised and gourmet meals will be the next big thing. Take out your recipes for unique and one of a kind mini-meals!

Food Fanatism

Weddings are times when large families, friends, colleagues all get together to celebrate and have fun. Handshakes and hugs are shared in abundance. These simple acts may also see a change. Furthermore, event planning and organization becomes crucial in such a time. While couples may not have an ideal wedding during this pandemic, these wedding planning tips can ensure a kickass future wedding!
