In this time of coronavirus, are you looking for ways to market your events?

Are you wondering how to leverage social media platforms to your advantage?

Read on to find out how you can use social media to promote and generate leads for your upcoming event, be it physical or online.

1. PICK THE RIGHT PLATFORM

In this age, there are a myriad of social media platforms one can be a part of. But which ones are really effective? Each platform has its own persona, and it is important for you to choose the right one depending on your identity and target audience. A business can be B2B or B2C, hence it is important to pick the right medium to communicate with your buyers. Research by Hootsuite states that India has had a 48% year-over-year increase in the number of social media users. This suggests that social media is a rapidly growing medium to target consumers. Now, it also becomes important to understand the target demographics and segmentation. This helps in narrowing down which media to use the most.

2. CUSTOMISE AND PERSONALISE

It is necessary to have a personalised account and profile to convey the essence and identity of your brand. Add pictures to make it aesthetically pleasing, a strong bio, links to your website, and really show the product. Think showing your product means just posting a picture with its features? Not at all! To really customise your social media, you need to portray the various aspects of your product or service, let it speak for you. Talk about how it will add value to a consumers’ life, why your brand does that better than anyone else!

How can you do this?

Try using Instagram Stories, or Facebook Stories to catch the attention of consumers when they are casually tapping away on their phones. Create engaging polls, games and encourage people to comment on your posts, and ensure that all of these interactions subconsciously reinforce your brand and product/service.

Sounds complicated? Don’t worry, with time, you too can master the art.

This will show not only your expertise in the field but also position your brand as helpful, and a problem solver. This will garner attention, and eventually generate more interest and visits to your website and social media accounts. According to Forbes, Platforms like Quora, Reddit, Expertera, Pinterest are all places to widen your audience. You don’t always have to social media to promote your services directly. Instead, try helping and guiding others, whilst indirectly attracting attention to your brand.
